Hatsgiving is back, Milwaukee, and we need your help!

Last year, we started our first collection for a charity called Hatsgiving out of Albany, NY. It was started by Jeremy Wernick when he was just 8 years old because he wanted kids who were receiving chemotherapy to have nice, warm hats to wear during their treatmens. Since starting in 2013, Hatsgiving has distributed over 18,000 hats to kids all over the country!

Our goal last year was to collect 106 hats (for FM106.1, get it?) .... and because of your generous selves, we collected over 800!

Donations this year can be dropped off right at our station outside of the front door the whole month of November. Due to COVID-19, only new hats with tags attached will be accepted. They will be boxed up and set aside for at least 2 weeks before being donated to Children's Wisconsin.

If you don't feel comfortable dropping off hats, you can also make a monetary donation on the Hatsgiving website to be used for shipping costs. Not only do they collect in Albany for the Children's Hospital there, but they also send them all over the country to other hospitals to use.

Thank you so much in advance for any donations you can make this year. We know it's an extremely tough one with everything happening due to the pandemic, so if you can even just share this information on your social media accounts so others can see and help if they have the means - we would appreciate it!

Our station's address for drop offs:

12100 W Howard Avenue

Milwaukee WI, 53228
