Last year I was in my flipping glory at the Wisconsin State Fair. It was my first time ever going, and I broadcasted live almost every day from our FM106.1 Rolling Radio. I tried a new food every day that I was there, and I have no regrets.
I think my top pick last year was the Deep Fried French Onion Soup. It was so different, but it was DELICIOUS! It was basically everything you would have in French Onion Soup, but deep fried and put on a stick with a little au jus on the side (is that how you spell it? You know what I mean right? Let's not get all technical).
I was skimming through the new foods on the State Fair website, and I came across a few that I have to try!
My top pick already that I absolutely 106.1% HAVE to try are the Deep Fried Banana Bites!
They're described as:
A heaping serving of fresh banana bread cut into bite size pieces and deep fried to a golden brown.
Tender inside, crispy outside, these warm little bites are then sprinkled with delightful mixture of cinnamon and sugar and served with a sweet cream icing.
Next up is the Baked Potato with Bacon Pizza. I mean .... HELLO! What is there NOT to like with this one?! Maybe I'll go with this one first, and then wash it down with those Deep Fried Banana Bread Bites.
10″ original thin crust pizza topped with mozzarella, Monterey jack, cheddar cheese, baked potato, bacon, and onion.
Drizzled with ranch dressing and dusted with seasoning salt.
Gluten free or cauliflower crust options available.
This one is just straight up bizarre, but I'll tell you what .... I think I'm gonna be adventurous and try it. It's a Grasshopper Slushie on a Stick!
