I am a Buffalo, NY native (the City of Good Neighbors, btw) and it warmed my heart to see this little girl from Rochester (about an hour away from my hometown) doing something so inspiring for others.
Jenny Shaw is only 7-years-old, and she has Wilms tumor (which is a cancer in the kidneys). Since she was in the hospital so much for treatments, she thought of a way to give back and help other kids going through the same things she went through.
She came up with an idea on making care packages that include stuffed animals, toiletries, and warm socks for kids at the hospital. Jenny started a GoFundMe page to help with her efforts, and her goal was $70,000. The last I checked, she has collected over $60,000!
