Top lessons people wish they knew when starting careers

With LinkedIn turning 20 and lots of recent graduates looking to start a career it's only fitting to talk about the top 20 lessons people wish they knew at the start of their careers. See below for the ones I liked the most and get the complete list from Metro here.

  1. A healthy work-life balance is important
  2. It's okay to say "no"
  3. It's okay to make mistakes
  4. Stick to your values
  5. Don't be scared to ask for a pay raise
  6. Be open to feedback

My two biggest lessons I learned was to not just accept the first dollar amount thrown at you without even asking for more or something else and paying attention to the work-life balance.
