Hannah here and man has it been awhile! You haven't heard me on your radio since February 16 and that's because that's the day our daughter was born! She came in weighing 6lbs 14oz and 20in long. Her name, which was not easy for us to decide, is Karina Leigh. We always knew Leigh (pronounced Lee) was going to be her middle name because that's mine and my mom's middle name so we wanted to keep that going. Her first name is where my husband Jaime and I struggled. Making it even harder, we didn't know if we were having a boy or a girl so we had to try to come up with two names and for 9 months we couldn't agree. Luckily we finally decided on Karina and officially signed the paperwork just a few hours before leaving the hospital.
Wanted to say thanks to the team at the Women's Pavilion in West Allis where we gave birth. It was such a wonderful experience and we were in such great hands! Thank you to Dr. Penzenstadler, Sara, Sydney, Amy and everyone else who took such great care of us. All the doctors and nurses we saw along the way were amazing too! Thank you!!
Although I really missed being on your radio I have loved being at home and hanging out with Karina. It's amazing how having kids totally changes you. Usually I'd be on the go and not sitting down for more than five minutes but during my maternity leave I found myself spending all day just sitting and holding her! It was the absolute best! Time has really flown by as she'll be three months old on May 16! Below are some photos that show you just how fast the time really does go.
