I don't eat out tons as my husband Jaime is an incredible cook but every now and again I enjoy going to a restaurant. They can be so expensive though! That's one reason I pack a lunch pretty much every day for work. You also don't know what's really going into your food. If you dine out often it's a good idea to know that each restaurant has things they just don't want you to know. MSN.com posted a list of 50 things popular restaurant chains don't want you to know so I chose some I thought were most important and shared them below. The complete list can be found here.
- Menus are designed to make you spend more
- The specials might not be the freshest
- Salads can be some of the least healthy menu items
- It's best to eat out on Thursdays
- You might want to avoid the drink garnishes
- The plastic trays are dirtier than you think
- Restaurants might use the five-second rule
- Politeness goes a long way
- You should always double-check the bill
- If you don't like something you can send it back
