They have issued a new semipostal stamp called the “Healing PTSD” stamp that will sell for 65 cents which includes a ten cent premium that will be donated to veteran causes and is now available nationwide. Fox 6 mentions in their article that “Art Director Greg Breeding designed them using art by Mark Laita which features a photo illustration showing a green plant sprouting up from brown, fallen leaves, with the words “Healing PTSD”. The design is meant to symbolize the healing that takes place after trauma causing Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.”
I’m currently reading a book about a soldier who returned from serving overseas and is suffering from PTSD. It’s not the main focus of the book but one of the main characters suffers from PTSD so it reminds you that PTSD is a very real thing and can majorly impact someone’s life and those around them.
