Make It Through Monday - My Parents Are Celebrating A Big Anniversary!

Yesterday, Sunday, October 27, 2019 my parents celebrated their 35th Wedding Anniversary! That's a big deal so I just had to share it for my Make It Through Monday moment, powered by Winkie's Hallmark & Gifts. They got married at St. Louis Church in Caledonia which was actually my Dad's church. I know the typical tradition is getting married at the bride's church but my Grandpa (my Dad's dad) had already passed away by then and my Dad knew it would mean a lot to his Dad if they could get married there. My mom agreed and I believe that was the start of their compromises right? haha Although I wasn't there yet I've heard many stories about that day; how it rained, how they had this great live band and more. It's so fun hearing stories about my parents from back in the day like how my Dad liked to ride his motorcycle and go snowmobiling and my Mom didn't. She must have really loved him though because she definitely rode on both of those. She would never do that today! I guess that's how it works after 35 years. The thing that seems even more amazing to me, other than being married for 35 years, is the fact that they genuinely still love each other so much and still enjoy being together after all this time. Anyone who knows my parents knows they like to joke around with each other a lot but there's never any doubt about their love for one another. They've shared an incredible 35 years with two great kids (hehe), gone on lots of vacations, shared lots and lots of laughs and more. I can't wait to see what the next 35 years brings.

Happy Anniversary Mom & Dad!

If you know of anyone celebrating a milestone in their life, you'll want to visit Winkie's Hallmark & Gifts located at the corner of Silver Spring and Lake Drive in Whitefish Bay. Not only do they have the perfect card for whatever occasion someone is celebrating but they also have the perfect gift as well. If you want something general that you can gift anyone, they have great Wisconsin specific items as well as loads of candles and of course their delicious candy counter. If you're looking for something more specific they have items for every single holiday including for marriages, anniversaries, first-time parents, etc. I love their Hallmark Keepsake ornaments. This is an entire wall filled with ornaments that are specific to any moment in someone's life or they have themed ornaments that could be perfect for someone as well. As you can tell I can go on and on about all the great stuff Winkie's Hallmark & Gifts has to offer but I suggest stopping in and seeing it all for yourself. The staff there is incredible and they really care about their customers. They're a three-generation family run local business that also supports other local businesses by having their products in the store which I think is really cool. Have fun shopping at Winkie's Hallmark & Gifts!
