I'm definitely not someone to rub my success in anyone's face even if they doubted me or put me down but it does feel good when you get to come out on top. I'm so grateful for all the opportunities I've been given and for everyone that has helped me succeed along the way. I think it's important to focus on those that support us instead of those that want to tear us down BUT it doesn't hurt to keep the negative person in the back of your mind to keep you pushing forward.
The idea for today's Make It Through Monday, powered by Winkie's in Whitefish Bay, came from a concert I was at on Saturday night. Toby Keith, one of my all time favorites, is a country artist and he performed at Country Thunder over the weekend. I've been listening to him for years and of course was singing and dancing to every single song. Although I hadn't seen him in concert for a few years, having listened to him for many years, so many memories came flooding back once I heard songs I hadn't heard in a while. One of my favorite songs from him is called "How Do You Like Me Now?!" It was released in 1999 and basically talks about a woman he liked but she didn't want him back as she was looking for someone better. Turns out in the end she wasn't as happy and he was on top of the world.
I thought these lyrics could relate to so many different situations in life whether it be a romantic situation between two people like the song, between coworkers, someone wanting you to fail instead of supporting you, etc. Listen to the song and you take out of it whatever you need to at this moment!

I'm extremely fortunate to not have many situations in my life where people wanted to bring me down instead of build me up but I know that's not the case for everyone. If this song doesn't make you want to work hard to prove someone wrong that's totally cool. Just find one that does!
