TMSG: Man In Boating Accident Says Apple Watch May Have Saved His Life

A man is crediting his Apple Watch to saving his life and the lives of two others after they were injured in a boating accident. Darren Paul said he wasn't even going to buy a smart watch until the salesperson convinced him into getting the upgrade. Now he says he's so grateful he made the purchase. Paul and two other passengers had just left the marina ready to explore a lake in Kentucky when their boat hit a submerged stump underwater.

The crash was so powerful it ejected the three of them from the boat. The only thing that didn't sink was the chair they were sitting on. They waited for help to come but after 35 minutes survival mode kicked in.

Paul said he remembered the function on his Apple Watch that allows him to call 911; it sends a distress signal letting people know you need help. The signal came across the cell phone of nearby boaters who helped the three get back to safety and in front of paramedics. They all suffered various injuries ranging from broken ribs to strained muscles.

They're all so grateful the watch saved their lives!
