Blackpink Announces Release Date For Mystery Collaboration

Blackpink is weeks away from dropping their mystery collaboration!

On Monday (August 3), the K-pop girl group announced their new single, which will feature a mystery collaborator, will be arriving on Friday, August 28. “#BLACKPINK #블랙핑크 #NewSingle #ReleasePoster #20200828 #ComingSoon #YG,” the band tweeted from their Twitter account, fueling more excitement about who Blackpink’s secret featured artist will be.

It has since been speculated that Selena Gomez is the mystery musician on the group’s upcoming follow-up single to their smash hit “How You Like That.”

As yet, this rumor remains unverified as Blackpink has kept mum since they first teased their team-up in July. However, when MyDaily reported the “Look At Her Now” songstress could be the mystery collaborator, their label YG Entertainment responded, “Please wait for the official announcement later.”

A new collaboration isn’t the only thing Blackpink fans should be excited about. Just a few weeks ago, the girls officially announced their hotly-anticipated debut studio will arrive on October 2 via YG Entertainment/Interscope Records. (The title for the group’s first record has not yet been revealed.)

So far this year, “How You Like That” is the only solo record the band has released. Since its arrival, the song has set three Guinness World Records and has become the most-viewed YouTube video in 24 hours. Before then, Blackpink featured on Lady Gaga’s club bop “Sour Candy,” which appears on Mother Monster’s latest LP, Chromatica.
