In February before the world stopped, I had the opportunity to attend my first CRS (Country Radio Seminar) in Nashville - and it was a freaking blast. There were all sorts of informative talks and breakfasts that we attended, and we got to meet some great new artists too. One of which was Mackenzie Porter who recently signed to Big Loud records. We had brunch and kicked off this new friendship with tequila shots - so I was a fan pretty much right away of this lady!
Her first single to country radio (in the states) is "These Days" which you can check out at the bottom of this blog. I also love her song "Seeing Other People" .... super catchy!
Mackenzie and I talked about her love for her new town (Nashville) and her home country (Canada), her tour stops with Brad Paisley, and which female artists she's digging right now (one of them being Ingrid Andress - who has also been on my podcast and you can listen to that here!).
To start the podcast this week though, I invited Kaitlin Sharkey to join me again (if you missed my other chat with Kaitlin, check it out here .... not to play favorites, but it's definitely one of my top episodes so far since she was so open and honest with every question thrown at her). Girlfriend just got an AWESOME gig in Chicago, and even though we will miss seeing her around our building and on FOX6, I'm super happy for her and know she's going to crush it in the Windy City!
