MIT Student Creates Harry Potter Sorting Hat

A student at MIT is such a big Harry Potter fan that she's created her very own sorting hat! Nataliya Kosmyna is part of MIT's media lab and has created a hat that uses electrodes (non-invasive) that capture a person's brain activity and can essentially discover what a person is thinking.

The hat is still in the developmental stages, but the eventual intent for Nataliya's project is to boost students' self-esteem.

The MIT post-doctoral student hosted a TED Talk about two years ago regarding "controlling objects with the power of your thoughts." We're glad she's putting her education to use and satisfying the rest of us Harry Potter Fans!
