25 Days of Dishes: Bourbon Cherry Toaster Pie

Maybe your looking for new inspiration.  Every day in December we will feature a different idea for you. These will be a mix of baked goods, sides, main dishes and cocktails.  Who doesn't need a good festive beverage to get you through the season.  Think of this as your advent calendar of holiday ideas.

The season in general is full of iconic dishes and deserts that we only enjoy during this magical time of the year.  There are many dishes that bring back memories from childhood.  This collection of dishes are a collection of personal recipes along with ideas taken from others worthy of a share.  Enjoy, have a happy holiday season and Merry Christmas.

I said in an earlier dish that bourbon would be a common theme in a lot of recipes... This is another one of those awesome breakfast, lunch, snack, post night out foods that you will love.

Remember as a kid tearing open that foil pouch and tossing a hard frosted pastry in your toaster to warm up. There was nothing like a pop tart.  I remember them being a Thanksgiving morning tradition in my house as a kid.  Don't know why but they were?

We can still experience that nostalgia, but we're adults.  Our pop tarts can grow up like us! Bring on the bourbon!  I stumbled on this recipe from Food Network star Demaris Phillips and it's everything you want as an adult eating a pop tart!
