I love my job and all of the cool stuff we usually have going on every weekend, but it was nice to have a couple of days where I had nothing planned.
Friday, I finished up on my "Seinfeld" bingewatch (I should have skipped the finale ... what a let down) and started a new Podcast. I listened to both seasons of "Serial", and I was super stoked to see they put out a 3rd season recently! I'm on Episode 3, and I have to say ... I like this season the best. If you're familiar with the first 2 seasons, you'll remember how each one is about a different case. This time around, it's a different situation each episode out of a courthouse in Cleveland. It's very interesting, eyeopening, and sad all at the same time.
Saturday turned into quite the adventure! Jesse's birthday was the other day, so we continued to celebrate this weekend with brunch at Blue's Egg in Wauwatosa (the Far-Flung Wrap was unbelievable! I'm so mad I didn't take a picture to share).
Afterwards, Jesse wanted to try Cryofit in New Berlin. First, we tried the Compression Boots out (he does Cross Fit, or as he likes to call it ... "Olympic Weight Lifting" .... so his muscles are always sore and yes I hear about it every. single. day.). It was actually really cool, and as you can see... he was very relaxed during his 20 minute session (I know... I'm not sure how I got such a handsome dude to marry me either).
You're probably thinking, "Ok, what the heck do these things do exactly?!" Well, here's some info from their website for you:
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF COMPRESSION THERAPY?
- Reduces inflammation and fluid collection
- Helps to remove toxins such as lactic acid
- Improves blood circulation
- Relieves conditions such as heaviness in the legs
- Helps to avoid development of cellulite
- Prevents and eliminates first-stage varicose
- Strengthens loose skin caused by pregnancy or obesity
Next up, we both hopped in to do some Cryotherapy.
They play fun music for you while you basically get a 3 minute freeze down. Of course, I chose my main dude Justin Timberlake to dance in the cold to. Not to get too TMI, but I only had on socks, booties, and gloves so yea... bringing sexy back with my awkward Elaine-like dance moves definitely helped!
The benefits include:
- Decreased inflammation
- Increased metabolism
- Recused chronic pain & fatigue
Personally for me, it's helped with my sleeping. Saturday & Sunday night, I slept like a baby. I haven't been sleeping well, so this was so worth it!
I was way too lazy to go out on Saturday night after my Cryofit awakening, so I decided to drop Jesse off to hang with some friends before starting a new documentary on Netflix like a true 31 year old.
"I Am A Killer" on Netflix is my new doc-obsession. I love the way they set you up to almost be on the inmate's side, and then twist it to show you the other perspective on the case.
On Sunday, because we're super basic, we went for brunch #2. This time, we went to Sweet Diner ... one of our favorite spots.
I love the food here ... so so so much .... and our waiter this time around was great. However, don't go here if you're looking for a quick meal. It's usually a 45-60 minute wait, and it takes awhile to get your food. BUT ... it is worth it for these delicious Fiesta Chorizo & Scramble Egg Tacos! And they have the cutest mini Miller High Life bottles you'll ever see.
We decided to end the weekend with renting a movie, and this time around we went with a scary one ... "Hereditary".
I didn't think it was super scary, and it wasn't what I was expecting. It was very odd, and took some weird turns along the way.
What cool things did you do around town this weekend? We're always looking for new ways to explore Milwaukee as we are both New York natives! Tweet, Facebook, or Instagram me - RadioGal716
