My Weekend: Wauwatosa diner, Russell Dickerson, and a new Kombucha

Oh hey... it's me. Telling you about my Labor Day Weekend.

I'm a total weirdo, and got a craving for Brussels sprouts on Friday night. I can't cook very well, but some things I absolutely crush making... and those green little roley poleys are high on my list.

This recipe is one I got from Pinterest, and it has Balsamic vinegar, garlic, and then just salt & pepper. I really don't even use the recipe anymore because I just use as much as I need, and taste test it as I go if that makes sense? And then I roast those bad boys until they're crispy (I suggest baking them for 25 minutes, take them out, stir, bake for 10 minutes, take them out, stir... and then keep baking until they're crispy if you're like me). I've also made a bomb batch before with mustard, honey, and balsamic vinegar. Your life will be changed for the better.

Saturday was a crazy day with Natasha Fest in Cedarburg with Russell Dickerson (The Fermentorium is really cool out there! And shout out to Matty's Bar & Grille for the food... the potato salad hit the spot!), followed by Russell, Darius Rucker, and Lady Antebellum at the American Family Insurance Amphitheater. I got to sneak backstage real quick and meet Lady A, and Hillary liked my jumpsuit so I'm pretty set with my life for the time being.

The hubs wanted to go to brunch at this place called the North Avenue Grill in Wauwatosa, and I did not object because as you probably know by now... I'm basic.

One of the main reasons why he wanted to go there is because he knows I'm a sweet freak when it comes to brunching, and this place takes Apple Fritters from Cranky Al's (holy goodness that place is a lot of goodness) and uses them to make a French Toast Delight with apples on top.

Since I'm a semi adult, I decided to get the Bacon & Avocados Quesadillas as my real meal. My friend Kelsey will yell at me for this... but it had cheese on it too which I shouldn't be having.... but it was so worth it. (we just got a little closer after that statement, didn't we?)

*I KNOW! CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT I MOVED ALL THE FLIP TO WISCONSIN AND JUST REALIZED HERE THAT I HAVE A DAIRY SENSITIVITY?!? WHYYYYY COW GODS WHYYYYYYY?!?!?*

Also, the fried dough was delicious as a side instead of french fries. I went to the gym 3 times this past weekend... don't you dare judge me, LINDA.

And to finally wrap up this blog (hope you're still with me and not running off to eat after all of that food!), I must share with you my secret to feeling good and eating not-so-great-for-me things and drinking alcohol.... and that's Kombucha.

Humble brag: I've gotten a lot of people on the Kombucha Train here at work, and to them I say... you're welcome. I'm looking at you, Meg from 95.7 BIG FM.... you perfect human, you.

I found this delicious flavor at the Outpost near my home in Bay View... and oh honeyyyyy it is sweet! AND it's made in Door County! Might be my new favorite flavor next to Health Ade's Pink Lady Apple.
