Wedding days are something you dream of forever right? Not to mention all the planning and money that goes into the perfect day. You never think about being a hero on your wedding day though... One Alabama man became a lifesaving groom recently.
Newlyweds Zac and Cindy Edwards were in the middle of taking wedding day photos on Orange Beach, Alabama, when a nearby swimmer got caught in a rip current and started drowning.
The groom; a former lifeguard and member of the Coast Guard, stopped the photo shoot and jumped in to save the drowning swimmer.
The groom helped the man back to shore where emergency responders were waiting. Both guys were fine, but Zac had a nose bleed. his biggest concern was still hiw new bride, warning her to keep her distance in her white wedding dress.
“I told her, ‘The grandkids are going to have a story to tell! It was a perfect day. Beautiful wedding.” says Super Groom Zac.
