Taylor Swift on Sugarland Duet: 'I'm So Happy It Gets Its Own Life'

Taylor Swift is back on country radio and already expressing her gratitude.

The pop megastar sings on Sugarland’s new single “Babe,” which Taylor herself co-wrote with Train’s Pat Monahan for her Red album.

In a new Instagram video, Taylor thanks fans “for all the nice things [they’ve] been saying” about the song.

“I’m so happy that it gets its own life,” she says of the song, which didn’t make the cut on Red. “I’m so happy that Sugarland wanted to record it and has done such a great job with it. I’m so stoked to be able to sing on it, too.”

Sugarland revealed backstage at the ACM Awards how the collaboration came to be.

“[Taylor] was excited we were getting back together,” Jennifer Nettles says, “and reached out and said, ‘Hey! I have a song.’ And that is a short list, ladies and gentlemen, of people to whom she has said, ‘Hey! I have a song. Want to sing it?’ So we said, ‘Yeah!’”

Look for “Babe” on Sugarland’s new album, Bigger—out June 8.
