What a wild ride it was to watch our 3rd Annual Fish Fry Frenzy! Thanks to your nominations, we had sixteen fabulous restaurants that competed, and it came down to Light Palace in Cudahy and Uncle Larry's Rustic Inn in Hartford.
Uncle Larry's ended up winning the whole thing, and it sounds like it was well-deserved with all of the work they've been putting into the restaurant, especially within the past year!
Sitting on the west side of Pike Lake, Uncle Larry's is surrounded by a residential area. The restaurants General Manager, Cale Goeman, says that the support from the community surrounding them is astonishing. They have people who come in and just want to eat with their family, and they have people the come in and want to watch a sports game and spend some time at the bar - they have an area for both types of visitors!
About a year ago, Chef T came into play and really put effort into creating a menu that he could be proud of. If you're not checking out one of their various options of fish fry, it sounds like the chicken, or Chef T's staple, the Bacon Jam Burger, is the way to go.
Uncle Larry's is founded on a legacy that spans over three decades. The restaurant describes itself as a place where traditions meet tastes, swiftly served.
