About half of those polled said that diet was the main cause of obesity – while about 40 percent said it was caused by a lack of exercise.
And, people who said lack of exercise was the biggest reason for being overweight were more likely to be heavier than those who blamed a poor diet.
While most experts admit a sedentary lifestyle and genetics have something to do with obesity, more and more studies are showing that overeating is the biggest problem.
