Ridder and his wife visit the Ice Castle

Every winter something straight from a Disney movie pops up along the shore of Lake Geneva. The Ice Castle is an instagrammers dream! Everything from huge ice walls, to ice furniture, fountains and more. The Ice Castle is no doubt the ultimate winter experience.

Ice Castles is an award-winning frozen attraction located in six cities across North America. Each ice castle is built using hundreds of thousands of icicles hand-placed by professional ice artists. The castles include breathtaking LED-lit sculptures, frozen thrones, ice-carved tunnels, slides, fountains and much more.

If you wanted to go this year, advance tickets are sold out. However you can buy waiting list tickets but may have to wait up to an hour before admission. The walking surface inside is made up of crushed ice and snow, and this creates a walking surface much like a cold, sandy beach. While it is usually not slick, there can be some places that are slippery so boots are suggested.
